BOYCOTTING “HUFFINGTON POST” AND THEIR SELECTIVE CENSORSHIP

It’s seems the same journalists that ask for their freedom of speech and press to be protected are enforcing their own brand of censorship. I’m calling for the boycotting of this news blog-Huffington Post. If you’re a member of HuffPost, you may know of this new formula they have on the blog. They choose the comments they want posted on their blog to sway the conversation in the articles favor. I thought one of the interesting tidbit about HuffPost was the freedom it allowed to its members when posting a comment. This was the method in its early phases but not anymore. They are a brand now, thus operate as one. Plus with the cash infusion from AOL…sheesh

How stupid can AOL management team be? The move to plunge so much cash into a news blog is ridiculous, they could have paid a team to start a rival news blog. However, we know AOL management does not know how to operate in this new business climate of the Internet, Social Network or New Media. They keep plunking down cash for failures, should I go into the history of AOL? The problem is the old boys club did not want to hire an experienced executive in the area of New Media (he would probably be some gen-xer or younger i.e. Mr. Zuckerberg and they can’t have a young person at the helm, no way). So they said, ‘we have all this cash let’s do what we always do, lets buy one of these smaller efficient New Media companies.’ And so they did, also how is Dick Parsons offered the reins of media company that is embarking on a new media platform? Dick had no former experience with new media (sorry Dick, you’ve been hiding too long).

Huffington Post is nothing but a sensational news blog and a cheers to Jesse Ventura, he was the first to notice that the platform HuffPost started on is no longer there. In the early days of HuffPost, we could not get enough, during the 2008 Election especially. Now, they are just another corporate conglomerate that spins the news. Comments were allowed of any sorts as long as it was not deemed offensive in a manner that it would cause harm. Another annoying fact is, none of these pundits lives in the real world. Most of us struggle daily to survive and eat; they struggle with the DC political party to go to on weekends in that beautiful city. Arianna Huffington is an expert on her life, that’s it. News pundits can point fingers, write memoirs, give speeches at commencements across America but can never offer any solution to most of the problems of this economy. News blog sites such as Huffington Post are posers, it’s not for the benefit of the people or to ask the pertinent questions of our legislators; they follow a for profit motive only. I have no problem with for profit motives but don’t pose as any symbol of freedom of speech when you implement your own censorship

I always thought the journalists were the ones to ask the people’s questions, get the people’s voice out there and hold government or business to laws that govern the land. Now it seems as if these news agencies are picking sides and adding their decorations to the actual facts. I’m sure there are a few people who agree with me on that statement about the news being bias.

In any event, RIP TO HUFFINGTON POST, it was a blog for the people but now masquerading as providing the truth or facts. An advice to the masses, you get 25% of the story from many of these news agencies. NPR, PBS, BBC and RTnews are the only ones that will give at least 75% of the story. We need to show Huffington Post and AOL that they do not have a monopoly of Internet news. In addition, the next wave of news blogs will be sites such as wikileaks and anonleaks not sites like Huffington Post. Huff Post is pushing to be the stuffy news blog on the Internet i.e the financial times. The young staff keep Huff Post relevant, if not that site would be dead yesterday.
